Ingredient Helper — Account Deletion Request

You have the right to request deletion of your Ingredient Helper account and all associated personal data. This page explains how to submit a request, what data will be deleted, and what (if anything) may be retained.

Before you proceed

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all saved data, purchase history, and any active subscription benefits. If you have an active subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play, please cancel it through your device's subscription settings before submitting a deletion request — your billing is managed by Apple or Google and will not stop automatically when your account is deleted.

How to Request Deletion

Step 1 — Cancel your subscription (if applicable)

If you have an active premium subscription, cancel it first to avoid future charges:

Step 2 — Send a deletion request

Email us at support@ingredienthelper.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include:

Step 3 — Confirm your identity

We may send a confirmation email to verify that the request came from the account owner. Reply to confirm, and we will process your request within 30 days.

Step 4 — Receive confirmation

Once your account has been deleted, we will send a final confirmation email. You can create a new account at any time in the future.

What Data Is Deleted

Account credentials (email, password, linked social accounts) Deleted Permanently removed from Firebase Authentication
Food logs and nutrition history Deleted All logged meals and nutrition tracking data
App settings and preferences Deleted Dietary preferences, allergen alerts, theme, and notification settings
Health integration data Deleted Any health data synced through Ingredient Helper (data in Apple Health or Google Fit is managed by those apps separately)
Subscription records Retained up to 7 years Transaction records may be retained for tax, legal, and financial compliance purposes as required by law. This data is not used for marketing.

Data stored only on your device

Some data (such as locally cached scan history) is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. To remove this data, uninstall the Ingredient Helper app from your device after your account deletion is confirmed.

Subscription Billing

Ingredient Helper does not directly charge your payment method — all billing is handled by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or PayPal. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel these subscriptions. You must cancel through your respective store or PayPal account to stop future charges. Refunds for unused subscription periods are subject to the refund policies of Apple, Google, or PayPal.
